Lawyer Monthly – United States’ Land Use Lawyer of the Year
December 22, 2017
Lawyer’s Monthly, a monthly legal publication with content that is entirely defined by the significant legal news from around the world, has named Jennifer M. Bragar as the United States’ Land Use Lawyer of the Year. The distinction was awarded after nearly 9,000 readers of Lawyer’s Monthly selected nominees, and a select group of judges narrowed the short list to Ms. Bragar as this year’s award winner.
Lawyer’s Monthly attorneys of the year represent the most accomplished and highly-regarded attorneys in the nation who have distinguished themselves through their superior legal abilities, outstanding reputations for excellence and integrity in the practice of law, and public service contributions.
“I am grateful for and humbled by this recognition,” said Ms. Bragar, a partner at Tomasi Bragar DuBay, P.C., a law firm that represents businesses, government entities and individuals in Portland, Oregon and throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Ms. Bragar has devoted her practice to land use for the past decade, representing clients in land use, real estate, municipal and environmental law. Ms Bragar is committed to public service and chooses to participate in organizations that promote equity in law and provide access to justice. She is currently the President of Housing Land Advocates – an organization comprised of land use planners and lawyers who are committed to ensuring land is available for affordable housing across all Oregon jurisdictions. She is the Content Advisory Chair for the American Bar Association’s State and Local Government Section, the 2017 President of the Portland Chapter of the Women of Sustainable Industries and Renewable Energy, and was 2016 Chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Real Estate and Land Use Section. Ms. Bragar also serves on the Board of the Oregon League of Conservation Voters. These activities allow Ms. Bragar to affect policy decisions on land use planning, and to mentor other lawyers and planners.
